S.207 An Act relative to toxic-free kids

This bill would direct the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to create and publish a list of toxic chemicals of concern, and would require manufacturers who make children’s consumer products that are for sale in the Commonwealth to report information to DEP about the inclusion of toxic chemicals of concern in their products. It would also direct DEP to make the manufacturer’s reported information available on the Interstate Chemical Clearinghouse (IC2) database for access by consumers. The bill would also require DEP, by December 31, 2021, to report and make recommendations on additional ways to reduce exposure to toxic chemicals in children’s products.
