FY2022 Supplemental Spending

On February 3, 2022, the MA Senate and House of Representatives announced an agreement on a supplemental spending bill that directs $101 million to address critical, time-sensitive needs related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The provisions of the bill include:

  • $75 million for masks, rapid tests and vaccine equity efforts that support children, educators, front-line health care workers, small businesses, our most vulnerable populations and communities disproportionately impacted by the pandemic.
  • $25 million to recapitalize the COVID-19 Paid Sick Leave Program to ensure the fund will remain solvent in the wake of the Omicron surge.
  • $1 million to support a robust information and awareness campaign about the unemployment overpayment waiver process.

The bill now goes to Governor Baker, who will have 10 days to take action on the bill.
